Post acute wound care encompasses advanced wound care in the patient’s home, assisted living facilities and nursing homes. It is the fastest growing segment in the specialty of wound care. It is the future of wound care. Rapid growth increased the need for education, advocacy, and a conference to exchange ideas unique to the post-acute practice.

The International Post-Acute Wound Society (iPAWS) was founded in 2024 to meet the needs of clinicians caring for patients outside of the hospital setting.

The first conference will be held in New Orleans on September 4-6, 2024 and will be returning for another year in 2025!

In addition to educational sessions, the inaugural iPAWS meeting brought together clinicians who will lead the specialty into the future.
